The dining scene in Southwest Colorado Springs is, without a doubt, one of the best in the city. There are numerous highly rated and popular restaurants throughout, including Edelweiss Restaurant. This high-end eatery serves Austro-German dishes like wienerschnitzel, bratwurst with dark mushroom sauce, and spaetzle with creamy Swiss cheese.

The Ivywild Urban Renewal Project is also nearing completion and will bring in a plethora of fantastic restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues into the neighborhood, as well as high-end condos and living spaces for new residents to consider.

Things to Do

Residents living in Southwest Colorado Springs have an enormous number of entertainment opportunities and recreational activities at their fingertips. The Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo is one of the most highly anticipated events of the year. With an 80 year history behind it, this one-of-a-kind rodeo is a PRCA Championship certified rodeo with bareback, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc, tie-down roping, barrel racing, and bull riding events. The weekend is filled with fun and exciting events as well as exceptional vendors, ensuring fun is had by all. 
 
In addition to the Pikes Peak Rodeo, the Norris Penrose Event Center is always hosting a variety of events throughout the year, including the Colorado Springs Kennel Club All Breed Dog Shows and the State Trooper Memorial Day Roping Event. 
 
There are also several parks in the area for residents to enjoy. Bear Creek Regional Park is one of the most popular parks in the state, with several trails, flower fields, and activities throughout its 575 acres. If you’re looking for a place to take your four-legged companions, the Bear Creek Dog Park is a fantastic spot that welcomes over 100,000 visitors a year.
